Resumo

Há mais de um século, pesquisadores têm buscado um quadro mais claro e preciso de quem seria o Jesus que andou pela Galileia. Contudo, o avanço dessa pesquisa levou cada vez mais estudiosos à conclusão de que a maneira como tem sido realizada essa busca pelo “Jesus histórico” não tem sido a melhor. O presente artigo se propõe a avaliar a metodologia dessa linha de pesquisa usando como marco teórico Karl Popper. Para alcançar esse propósito foram avaliadas apenas publicações de 2000 a 2014 que tratem sobre essa metodologia. Conclui-se que a busca pelo “Jesus histórico” foi incapaz de cumprir seu objetivo primário e que sua metodologia é passível de questionamentos.
