O Censo do IBGE de 2010 (publicado em 2012) apontou que o Catolicismo está em decadência no Brasil. Enquanto isso, protestantes e sem religião crescem. Como parte desse conglomerado não católico está a Igreja Adventista do Sétimo Dia. Com uma visão bem peculiar sobre profecias bíblicas, o Adventismo do Sétimo Dia ensina que a Igreja Católica Apostólica Romana irá crescer em influência até o ponto de dominar o Cristianismo e impor sua forma de culto (WHITE, 1950). Estará equivocada a projeção futurística Adventista?
