Uma análise do retrato do Adventismo do Sétimo Dia na “Teologia Sistemática” de Franklin Ferreira e Alan Myatt

Abstract

Os teólogos Franklin Ferreira e Alan Myatt produziram a primeira teologia sistemática originalmente escrita em português, considerada por teólogos de renome como “um marco na história do evangelho no Brasil”. Os autores afirmam que objetivo da obra foi preencher uma lacuna no diálogo teológico e apologético brasileiro e abrir as portas para muitas conversas frutíferas. A intenção deste artigo é oferecer uma contraparte no diálogo intencionado pelos autores no contexto da comunidade de fé adventista no Brasil, investigando o retrato do adventismo do sétimo dia na referida obra e até que ponto ele corresponde ao que a literatura e crenças adventistas apresentam.

The theologians Franklin Ferreira and Alan Myatt wrote the first systematic theology ever published in Portuguese, considered by renowned theologians as “a landmark in the gospel history in Brazil”. The authors state that the purpose of the book was to fill a gap in the Brazilian theological and apologetic dialogue as well as to open the doors to fruitful talks. The aim of this article is to offer a contribution to such dialogue by investigating the picture of Adventism portrayed in the book and the extent to which it reflects the one presented by Adventist beliefs and literature.
