A ORAÇÃO DE DANIEL 9:1-19: UM ESTUDO EM CONTEXTO

Abstract

O livro de Daniel é um dos que mais gera debates e estudos. Entre os capítulos do livro que se encontram em meio a debates e interpretações diversas está o capítulo 9. Porém, nas análises desse capítulo, os dezenove primeiros versos que contêm a oração de Daniel são negligenciados por muitos. Essa pesquisa se concentrará nesses versos. O texto da oração de Daniel é analisado em um contexto de aliança e conflito conforme indicados por seus contextos históricos, literários e teológicos. Esse contexto de aliança e conflito se revela como chave hermenêutica para a compreensão da oração de Daniel e, consequentemente, da resposta de Gabriel a ele.

Abstrat: The book of Daniel is one of the books that most generates debates and studies. Among the chapters of the book which finds itself in debate and various interpretations is chapter 9. Although this chapter’s analysis of its first nineteen verses, containing the prayer of Daniel is overlooked by many. This research will focus precisely on these verses. The prayer of Daniel is analyzed in a context of covenant and conflict as indicated by its historical, literary and theological contexts. This context of covenant and conflict is revealed as the hermeneutic key to the correct understanding of Daniel's prayer and hence Gabriel’s response to him.
