Abstract

Several interpreters of Scripture are challenging the traditional Adventist-historicist year-day interpretation of the 1,290 and 1,335 days of Daniel 12. They argue that those prophetic time periods have to be understood as literal days instead of days that represent the same number of years. The present article provides five major arguments why the “literal-day” theory is unacceptable for an Adventist-historicist interpretation of the book of Daniel.
