Abstract

Apostasy among Christians has been a concern since ancient times and continues to be a relevant issue today. Biblical accounts illustrate numerous instances in which God stands against dissent and the establishment of parallel ministries that mislead people into false worship. This study aims to demonstrate, based on the example of Micah, the dangers of dissent and the practice of parallel ministries in relation to the work of God. It emphasizes that the worship of God must be aligned with his purposes rather than be based on personal interpretations. The book of Judges presents narratives of liberation, but it also highlights the spiritual chaos that arose among God's people, mainly due to idolatry and apostasy. The consequences of syncretism affected the social, political, and religious aspects of the lives of the Israelites as a result of their disobedience to God's commandments. The biblical example clearly shows that false worship directly challenges the Creator, leading to apostasy, and dissent within the community of believers.
