Resumo
Breve avaliação do legado de Galeno de Pérgamo como médico e professor durante a dinastia antonina do Império Romano, e de alguns aspectos de sua contribuição para a história da educação, com base em alguns de seus tratados, especialmente a obra intitulada O melhor tipo de ensino, que compõem um corpus que ainda não foi inteiramente traduzido do grego antigo para o inglês, espanhol ou português. Atenção é dada especialmente a seu recurso à dialética e à lógica para o desenvolvimento de uma didática fundamentada na análise, síntese, exegese e demonstração, para a qual ele considerava a definição exata dos termos como imprescindível.
