Este artigo descreve a crise atual nas pesquisas do Pentateuco. Aborda sua origem e resultados, bem como os impactos para a pesquisa moderna. Apresenta os principais nomes participantes do debate e sua contribuição para o atual momento da pesquisa. Conclui apresentando uma descrição sobre o futuro da pesquisa, conforme se apresenta a partir do estado atual e dos rumos que a pesquisa tem seguido.
