Church discipline and juridic-social reality
Keywords:
Discipline, Legislation, Ecclesiology, Church ManualAbstract
During the development of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, several
changes were made in the editions of the Church Manual (1932-2010).
The ecclesiastical discipline had several modifications so it could be
applied in better ways. However, church leaders sometimes fail when applying
discipline because they don’t know its judicial implications. This article aims to
approach the ecclesiastical discipline to the Brazilian legislation recommendations
about religious practices and how it interferes in the common procedure
of discipline. In this sense, it may be possible to avoid misunderstandings and
complications for the church administrators resulted from discipline.
