Abstract

The kind of discipleship that Jesus mentioned in the Great Commission of Matthew 28:18-20 is a divine command to the church to fulfill its evangelical mission. In a mission sense it means to make disciples of the members of the church in order that they can be multiplied as disciples. According to the statistics a growing number of people are leaving the Seventh-day Adventist Church or abandoning the lifestyle of a true Christian disciple in such way that apostasy has become evident. In a sense, the evasion is not due to theological discussion, but mainly because of the carelessness of the old members in integrating the news converts, by the way of sound relationship or proper instruction on the lifestyle of a Christian disciple. The most of the members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church has not been aware of the role to accomplish in the local congregation. In fact, a small number os such people involve themselves in soul winning or in preservation of the new converts and the majority they don’t feel uncomfortable by such omission. For sure this is the result of the negligence of the leaders and pastors concerning the Great Commission of Jesus and lack of discipleship ministry. The result of this need may be seen in the life of the members of the local churches not committed on the Commission of Christ, and as such without a profile of a genuine disciple according to the words of the Bible. Putting into the hands of the local church leaders, or pastors, a missionary strategy in the format of the Seminar for Making New Disciples in the order to make them aware of the evangelical commission the results in the missionary mobilization will be seen in a more enthusiastic and volunteering disposition to fulfill the command of God than of any kind of pressure or sense of guilty.
