Church Growth and Methods of Evangelization: Rapport of a Field Research in the Churches of the State São Paulo Made by the Students of the 3rd Year of Theology in the Year 2007

Abstract

The present work presents the research done by the 3rd year students of Theology, implemented in the year 2007. A total of 1,700 Adventists participated in the survey, coming from different churches of Paulista Central Conference (with some rare exceptions). The subjects of the research answered a pre-established form with direct and indirect questions concerning their conversion. The questions covered different areas and the results are presented in this work. The major issue of the research however can be summarized in the following question: "Which methods and approaches were the most efficient in the process of conversion of the Adventists that were interviewed?"
