Abstract

 This research intends to explore the soteriological and missiological (salvation and mission, respectively) implications of the Logos' self-emptying, from the perspective of Philippians 2.7 and others passages of the New Testament (specially the Gospel of John), and from the perspective of some considerations made by Ellen White concerning the issue. This investigation intends to present an alternative suggestion for the immediate meaning of the text in Philippians, according to its pericope, and also from the general scope of the letter to the Philippians and other New Testament texts.
