Secularism, secularization, and their impact on the transmission of the faith between generations: perspectives for adventism

Despite the similarities, secularism and secularization are distinct concepts. While the former is concerned with the separation of church and state, the latter comprises a process of change from a spiritual to a material worldview. Although both affect the church, they do so in completely different ways. In view of this, through bibliographic research, this article deals mainly with the process of secularization and how it has affected, since very early in history, people, their beliefs and practices, and consequently the church, but more boldly today. As for the results, they are seen, especially as it relates to the transmission of the faith between generations.
