Abstract

The Lord is my banner” is a synthetic sentence with possible typological consequences, but presents several controverses of textual order in the
pericope where it is founded (Ex 17:8–16). This paper aims to analyse the expression יהָוה נסִּי ,ְ its immediate plot in these pericope and, more specifically,
the term נֵס , first in Exodus 17:15 and after in the entire Pentateuch with
brief allusions to other scriptural texts. The last goal of the paper is detecting a
Christological typology in the heart of the expression in vogue.
