Abstract

Missiological studies have occupied an important space both in academic debates and in field practices themselves, achieving global and cross-cultural interest. Based on a bibliographical review, this essay dialogues with some authors considered exponents in the field of missiological studies, with modest expectations of contributing to the continuity of this dialogue. It presents an approach to missional ecclesiology based on the concept of missio Dei, with missiology being a field of study in theology as well as practice in the life of the church. Starting with a brief historical-conceptual narrative of missiology, the text advances to the concept of God's mission and its direct relationship with the Church, amalgamated in the proposal of missional ecclesiology.
