Debates sobre o termo “Imagem-Semelhança” em Gênesis 1:26-27

Resumo

Este artigo estuda o significado da expressão “imagem e semelhança de Deus”, usada no texto massorético, em Gênesis 1:26 e 27, para descrever a criação da humanidade. Através da visão antropológica bíblica, este artigo visa trazer consciência sobre o propósito de nossa existência. Será usado o método canônico-teológico, que possui quatro corolários: (1) sola Scriptura; (2) uma visão elevada da revelação-inspiração do cânon bíblico; (3) a dupla autoria (divina e humana) do texto canônico; e (4) os procedimentos histórico-gramaticais da exegese. O artigo tem início com um olhar através das várias interpretações da “imagem de Deus” na história, não sendo normativa, mas sugestiva. Em seguida, apresenta uma exegese de Gênesis 1:26 e 27, criticando o livro Dignity and destiny, de John F. Kilner, por ser atualmente o livro com o estudo mais extenso sobre o tema proposto. Para concluir, o trabalho recapitula e sugere a aplicação do estudo proposto como uma visão de mundo para nossa relação teológica, sociológica e ecológica. A visão de mundo que existe em nós mesmos estipula como vamos pensar e agir. Temas como socialismo, feminismo, racismo, diferenças sexuais, infanticídio, ecologismo, veganismo e até mesmo ordenação ao ministério pastoral devem ser lidos e discutidos através de uma perspectiva “humana”.
